Mary and I had a long day at the hospital today, but the actual labor and delivery only took about 3 hours once they broke Mary's water.
Mary was a real trooper and successfully completed her third consecutive anesthesia free labor and delivery. She was actually laughing and happily talking to our awesome nurses in between contractions until the last 15 minutes or so when it came time to push Nathan out. I'm in complete awe of her tolerance for pain.
Nathan Edward was officially born just after 10 PM tonight. He weighed in at 6 lbs 1 oz and was 18.5 inches long.
On a basketball related note, the labor and delivery took place during the big GU - WSU game so it was probably for the best that it was on ESPNU where I couldn't watch it anyway.
