Kato Kaelin recently appeared in a video with The Lashes. I think Lashes singer Ben Clark was in a high school talent show band with my brother called The Stoics a little over a decade ago.
Found an interview with Ben Clark from back in May that has a classic quote about growing up here in Spokane:
Spokane was a really all-American town; a very odd, small town where stuff happens. On the surface, it looks like a really nice, perfect place, but then there's serial killers and meth addicts, and Neo-Nazis that live nearby. So it's this whole weird thing where everything seems really perfect, but it's all a little bit twisted. The city was a really cool place to grow up, in the way where you kind of hate a lot of things about it. The people who want to stick out or do anything different really stick out.
So that song from the Geico caveman at the airport commercial has been sticking in my head for a while now. I did some investigation this morning and it turns out it's Remind Me by Royksopp, a Norwegian electro-pop group. Further exploration on Youtube yielded a video for the original version of the song with a sports car driving around that was kind of blah (aside from the catchy song). On the other hand, the video for the remixed version can only be described as GENIUS!
What are the 10 most memorable music performances you've seen? (Remember, "memorable" may not be good.)

At first I wasn't sure if I could remember going to that many concerts (I'm specifically answering the question that way rather looking at general performances I've seen on television), but going to several Bumbershoots helped a lot. Order has no particular significance other than being in the order I remembered it.
- MC Hammer and Boyz2Men in the old Spokane Coliseum with Micah (first real concert I had ever gone to on my own).
- Neil Young and Pearl Jam at the Gorge. Our seats were pretty crappy, but it was a fun day with my friends.
- Geggy Tah with Jesse and Kristen at Bumbershoot.
- Elvis Costello in Mercer Arena with Jesse.
- Tom Prasada-Rao in the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C with Kristen and my parents. I bought his Christmas CD as a gift for Mary and we still listen to it all the time (even when the holiday season is long past).
- Pearl Jam in Key Arena with Jesse shortly after their second album came out.
- Cake and Reverend Horton Heat at Bumbershoot
- Modest Mouse at Bumbershoot
- Indigo Girls with Mary and her sister in Mercer Arena.
- Jethro Tull in Beasely Coliseum in Pullman with my friends Steven Jungk and Mark Barber. I think David Jungk might have come as well, but I'm not sure. We had seats in the fourth row and they rocked.
What song or lyrics are stuck in your head at the moment? What album is it from?

This is completely sad and a product of Eawyn's morning television show viewing habits. Doodlebops is definitely her favorite because they do so much singing and dancing and she'll actually sit and watch the whole show all the way through because of it. I've usually only watched the show when it's on during the weekend, but they sing Get On The Bus in the middle of every episode and I've had it going through my head at weird times all week long.
What song was the number one song on the charts the day you were born? How about the day you turned 21? What do you think about the song?
Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye for the day I was born and I'll Make Love to You - Boyz II Men for my 21st birthday. The trend here makes me laugh.
